Identity check in progress

Whoami.exe

A beige machine asking the only difficult question.

Night Shift

Every evening, the terminal wakes before the office does. It checks the blue screen, consults the unlabeled disk, and asks who signed in. Nobody answers. By dawn it has filed the same question under three different names, rejected each answer as insufficiently specific, and left the cursor blinking for the next visitor. It considers this careful administration.

Known Habits

  • Ticker

    $EXE, filed under unresolved identities.

  • Boot Time

One minute before the empty office officially opens.

  • Primary Task

Comparing every answer with the answer it expected.

  • Desk Item

One blue disk, unlabeled and treated as senior staff.

  • Screen State

Bright, blank, and increasingly certain the user is hiding.

  • Exit Method

No confirmed exit; the prompt simply asks again.
